Security Measures at Affise: Two-Factor Authentication

It is almost a truism to say that the more innovative our world becomes, the more threats we face not in reality, but in electronic devices. 2020 has further convinced the international society of that when COVID-19 has attacked both real and digital worlds.

According to an Adobe survey, 70 percent of enterprise chief information officers anticipate investing more in cybersecurity in the near future. At Affise, we invest in our customers and their business security by adapting the product to a rapidly evolving reality. As one of the most effective means in response to cyberattacks, Affise’s customers can now enable Two-Factor Authentication to protect their affiliates’ accounts.

Why Your Business Needs Cybersecurity?

In case someone steals your affiliate’s password, it can result in the loss of access to the account and the use of private information for malicious purposes. To prevent this, you need to add one more ‘shield’ to the verification, namely a verification code. Two-Factor Authentication means your affiliates will go through two checks to prove their identity. Also, there are some other advantages:

  • It’s available for all Affise’s customers
  • No request to the Support team is required
  • It is a one-click setup

One-step Activation

We have streamlined the setup process to one step: go to Settings -> Security and tick the relevant checkbox.

Please note that this feature is available for all Affise’s customers, but there should be a custom email domain in the Settings. It’s high time to start using such well-known email service providers as Mailchimp, SendGrid, etc.

How The Authentication Works for Affiliates?

After entering the login and password, the affiliate receives an email with a special 6-digit code. The affiliate should insert this code in a pop-up window:

Do not allow malicious actors to disrupt critical working processes. While choosing the right partner marketing solution for your business, focus on safety, reliability and robust technology.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is Two-Factor Authentication and how does it work for Affise affiliates?

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is an additional security layer that requires affiliates to verify their identity through a second step after entering their login credentials. When enabled, an affiliate enters their login and password, then receives a special 6-digit code via email that must be entered in a pop-up window. This code is valid for only ten minutes, after which the affiliate can request a new one by clicking the Resend button that appears after 60 seconds. To ensure reliable delivery of these authentication emails, Affise recommends using well-known email service providers. You can explore the SendGrid integration with Affise to automate email notifications and ensure your partners receive their verification codes promptly.

2. How does Affise’s 2FA feature enhance security for affiliate accounts?

Affise’s Two-Factor Authentication significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access by adding a verification code requirement on top of standard password protection. Even if someone steals an affiliate’s password, they cannot access the account without the 6-digit code sent to the affiliate’s email. The feature is available for all Affise customers and requires no request to the Support team, making it easy to adopt. Affise’s commitment to security is further demonstrated by its SOC 2 Type II certification, which validates the company’s rigorous data protection standards. To learn more about how Affise ensures platform security and data integrity, you can review the details of Affise’s SOC 2 Type II certification.

3. What are the prerequisites for enabling Two-Factor Authentication in Affise?

To enable 2FA for affiliates, you must go to Settings > Security and tick the relevant checkbox, but a custom email domain must first be configured in the Settings. The feature is available for all Affise customers and requires only a one-click setup. Admins can also enable 2FA for their own panel users, with codes valid for ten minutes and a resend option appearing after 60 seconds. For businesses using Affise MMP, additional security settings add an extra layer of protection against SDK breaches and fraudulent event floods. You can learn more about these advanced security measures by visiting the Affise MMP security guide.
