How to Ask the Affise MCP for Data: A Prompt Library
Copy these prompts. Change the IDs and dates. Get your answer in seconds.
The Affise MCP connects your AI assistant (Claude, Cursor, or any MCP-compatible client) to your live Affise data. You ask a question in plain English, and the assistant calls the right Affise API for you. No exports, no filters, no pivot tables.
But the answer you get depends on the question you ask. A clear prompt returns the exact number you need. A vague prompt returns something close, and then you spend three follow-ups fixing it.
This article is a library of prompts you can copy and reuse. First it shows the few patterns that make any prompt work. Then it gives you ready-made prompts for the tasks you run every week.
What makes a good prompt work
You do not need to learn a query language. Be clear about five things and any prompt works.
Be clear about five things: the metric, the period, the entity, the breakdown, and the format.
Ask for the outcomeSay what you want to know. Let the assistant pick the tool.
Name the metric and period"Revenue last 7 days" — not "how are things going?"
Give the exact IDPartner 3554, offer 95119. IDs get the right record first try.
Say how to slice itBy country, by offer, by day, by sub ID. Name the breakdown.
Ask for the comparison"This week vs last week" returns the change in one answer.
Say the formatTop 10, a sortable table, or CSV for a spreadsheet.
The prompt library
Copy any prompt below. Replace the IDs, dates, and geos with yours. Use the search box to find a task, or click the tags to filter. Open Why this works on any card to see the pattern behind it.

Vague prompt
Sharper prompt

Added status, period, entity, and geo.
"Check offer 95119."
"Clicks, conversions, revenue, and CR for offer 95119 this month, by country."
Added metrics, period, and breakdown.
"Any bad traffic?"
"Trafficback for the last 7 days by reason, top 10."
Named the data type, period, breakdown, and limit.
Good to know: the limits
The MCP is honest about a few boundaries. Knowing them helps you write prompts that succeed on the first try.
Custom stats cover up to 6 months per request. For a longer view, ask for the periods one at a time.
Conversion records go back 365 days in normal mode.
Filters accept sub1 to sub8. You can group by any sub ID up to sub30, but you can only filter on the first eight.
The session is temporary. The assistant sees your data only while you are connected. When you start a new session, you connect again.
State these in your prompt when they matter. For example: "Split the last 12 months into two 6-month pulls and show revenue for each."
Start asking
You do not need to memorize any of this. Keep this page open, copy the prompt that matches your task, and change the IDs and dates. After a week, you will have your own short list of prompts you run every Monday.
If you have not connected yet, it takes about two minutes. Open the Client Quickstart, add the connector, and start asking.
