How to Identify Low-Performing and Top-Performing Affiliates 10x Faster

We recently released one of the most beloved and impactful reports to date: the Affiliate Performance Report.

At first glance, it might seem unfamiliar – but once you grasp how it works, it becomes a powerful time-saving tool that helps you:

  • Identify affiliates that need attention
  • Detect traffic spikes or drops instantly
  • Compare affiliates with one another or track individual performance over time

Think of it as a tactical dashboard that shows you – on a daily basis – what’s changed in traffic, conversions, revenue, and conversion rate (CR).

Here’s how to get the most from it:

Step 1: Navigate to the Affiliate Performance Report

Go to: Statistics > AFFILIATE PERFORMANCE.

You’ll see a list of your top affiliates, sorted by number of clicks in the last 7 days.

Affiliate Performance Report

Report Structure

  • Rows = affiliates
  • Columns = dates
  • Cells = daily metrics for each affiliate

You can select a custom date range above the table.

Step 2: Understand the Data Per Cell

Each cell shows four key metrics for a specific affiliate on a specific day:

  • Clicks
  • Conversions
  • Conversion Rate (CR)
  • Revenue

Example On The Screenshot:
Affiliate 1 on May 8, 2025:

  • 300 clicks
  • 52 conversions

On May 9 and 10, the same affiliate had 195 and 177 clicks respectively.

Total Column

The “Total” column aggregates these metrics for the selected period.
E.g. May 8–14:

  • 988 clicks
  • 131 conversions
  • CR: 13.36%

⚠️ Note: Only “Approved” conversions are currently included. A filter for other statuses (e.g., “Hold” or “Declined”) is coming soon.

Step 3: Spot Trends Instantly With Cell Coloring

How to Spot Traffic Drops: A Step-By-Step guide

Let’s actually start with an objective: let’s say, we want to see if the traffic of a certain affiliate has dropped recently. And we want to know this for all of our top-affiliates.

Here’s where the report gets powerful: cell coloring reveals trends at a glance – no need to read the numbers.

Enable “Compare within one row” Highlight Mode

Start by selecting:

Highlight mode: Compare within one row

This mode compares each affiliate’s daily performance against their own best and worst days.

Spot Trends

How Coloring Works:

  • Green: High performance
    Light Green: Above average
  • White: Neutral
    Light Red: Below average
  • Dark Red: Low performance

Back to our example

Let’s take a look at the data one more time, this time paying attention to the colors of the cells:

Affiliate 1’s highest click day = 300 (green).

The following days (e.g., 125 clicks) might show as light or dark red depending on how much lower they are than 300.

This lets you quickly spot a drop without even reading the values.

Example: Seeing A Drop In Traffic

There’s a ton of insights you can gain by just looking at the report:

Drop In Traffic

We can see that on May 14 all cells are red. It means that on that day there was a network-wide drop in affiliate traffic. Or we can see that compared to May 8th, the affiliate in the first row has had a significant drop in traffic: the last 4 days are all colored red.

These are just some examples. You can tweak dates to look at a larger timescale (up to one month), or use filters, to get more insights.

🎯 Important Note: Color Interpretation Is Per Affiliate

It’s crucial to understand that in “Compare within one row” mode, the report compares values within each row individually.

That means:

  • If Affiliate 1 typically gets high traffic, their “low” could still be numerically higher than Affiliate 2’s “high.”

  • But each affiliate’s coloring is based only on their own data.

Back to the example. Let’s take a look at two affiliates now:

Affiliate performance
  • Affiliate 1 had 125 clicks on May 13 → cell is light red

  • Affiliate 2 had 115 clicks (less than Affiliate 1’s 125) on May 12 → cell is dark green

Wait – 125 is more than 115, so why is the higher number red?

Because:

  • For Affiliate 1, 125 is low compared to their peak of 300 (on May 8)
  • For Affiliate 2, 115 is high compared to their typical range

This color logic makes it easy to judge relative performance trends without comparing affiliates directly.

📌 Just remember: in this mode, coloring reflects each affiliate’s performance relative to themselves, not to others.

Step 4: Compare Affiliates with “Compare All Cells” Mode

Switch to: Highlight mode: Compare all cells.

Now, the coloring reflects values across all affiliates

Let’s take a look at how the report changes when we change the coloring mode:

Compare Affiliates

Almost all the cells are red now! That’s because Affiliate 1’s 300-click day is the highest across the board, thus it’s green. Other affiliates with lower values (e.g., 100–150 clicks) are red – even if that’s a great day for them individually.

This tells us, for example, that the difference between the report’s “top dog” and all others is quite significant.

This is ideal for spotting top overall performers or outliers.

Step 5: Use Filters for Precision Analysis

Tailor your view with filters for:

  • Advertiser
  • Offer
  • Affiliate
  • Affiliate Manager

Also, use the “Sort and highlight by” dropdown to change the key metric:

Want to analyze by Conversions or Revenue instead of Clicks? Just switch it.

Final Thoughts: Let the Insights Surface Themselves

This report is designed to make affiliate performance management intuitive and fast. You can now identify trends, anomalies, and outliers in seconds.

What will you uncover with this report?
Start exploring – and let the data do the talking.
