Before you start
What you need
A paid ChatGPT plan. Plus and Pro run custom connectors read-only via developer mode — this server is read-only anyway, so nothing is lost. On Business, Enterprise and Edu, connectors are workspace-level and need the owner or admin role.
Setup

Turn on developer mode (Plus and Pro)
In Settings, open the connectors section and enable Developer mode under its advanced options — the ability to add a custom connector stays hidden until it is on. Don’t let the name put you off: it just unlocks adding a connector, no coding involved. On Business, Enterprise and Edu skip this step: an owner or admin adds connectors under Admin ▸ Connectors.

Create a custom connector
Click Create (or Add custom connector) and pick the MCP server option.

Fill in the details
Name: Affise. MCP server URL: https://mcp.affise.com/mcp. Authentication: OAuth. Leave client ID and secret empty — the server supports dynamic registration.

Sign in to Affise
Save, then click Connect. Approve access in the window that opens.

Enable it in a chat
Start a chat, open the tools menu and switch Affise on. Then ask “Using Affise, which offers grew fastest in DE last week?”
Check it worked
Ask “Using Affise, run a status check.” You should get your Affise base URL back with an OK status.
If something goes wrong
There is no option to add a connector+
On Plus and Pro it appears only after developer mode is enabled. Free accounts cannot add custom connectors at all.
The connector saves but no tools appear+
Confirm the URL is https://mcp.affise.com/mcp, including the /mcp path, and that the connector is switched on inside the chat’s tool menu.
Deep research cannot see it+
Connectors must be enabled per conversation. Toggle Affise on before starting the research run.
